Colorblind

It’s really cool how eyes work

We have rods and cones in our eyes

That’s how we see in the dark

And how we see color

I think my vision has been altered

I see relationships in reverse

I’ve lost the ability to distinguish  

Between something healthy and something not

Green means go

Yellow means slow down

Red means stop

Traffic lights;

Simple rules of the road

Unfortunately people blur the rules

And sometimes completely break them

But the funny thing is

When you eat watermelon?

It’s the opposite

Red means go

Yellow means slow down

Green means stop

I like to think of myself as colorblind

Because no matter what

I see red flags as green

Go aheads to pass through instead of hazards to yield to
