Today my mother gave me a bath bomb

And tonight I used it

It was satisfying to see

All the little bubbles

Sodium bicarbonate and citric acid mixed with water

Produces serotonin

How interesting

How soothing

To pass it back and forth

Between my hands

Watch it move through the water

Drift along beside me

Leave the water all silky and sparkling

Bits of gold glitter and flower petals

It also brought back memories

Of childhood

Of innocence

When I would take baths

And my mother would put color bath bombs in

And me and my sister would be fascinated

By the way they gurgled and spun around

Such joyous times

Such gentle days

How calming to be wrapped in beautiful memories and floating glitter

In the serenity that comes

From a mixture of sodium bicarbonate and water
