Looking down at me

Looking down at this barcode

Lines all over

Strange marks

This barcode of scars

Scan at the supermarket

Nothing comes up

Does it mean I’m worthless?

This barcode of wounds

Marks from the past

Filled with ghosts

Memories of hurt

Past wounds still present

The pain is still there

This barcode reveals

This barcode

Self made

Self taught

Self hate

This barcode tells a story

A story of pain

A story of long nights

Dry eyes and wet tears

Sore throats, and silent screams

Crying out even though no one is there

Begging for someone to help when no one is there

Pleading to the darkness

Screaming into the emptiness for someone

Anyone please just stop this pain

Memories of a cool blade

Contrast between skin and blood

Cold metal slicing

Hot blood leaking

Is this release

Or is it another demon trying to get out

This controlling darkness

Is there even a way out?

This barcode tells a story

Tells a journey

This barcode tells my story

And tells of my scars

And my pain

This is my barcode

So what am I worth?
